Weekend~

Thursday
Had such a busy weekend!!! Thursday is a great night in London.... Thursday is the late shopping day, which means the shops stay open till about 9 (which is hilarious, because I would have thought that would have been normal), but its also the night to go out on the town. So like any normal student my friends and I decided to go out, even though we had class on Friday from 10-430... which essentially meant death for us! The setting, Amika, which is in a really swanky part of town. It is a members only club, but having connections we were able to get in for free and have free bottle service. Christian Audigier was launching his champagne endeavor so we also got to party with those people, but they were such wanks....LOL! The clubs here usually close at about 3 and by this time the tubes are no longer running, but one of the many experiences students in London have to take part in, is riding the night bus! The night bus runs all night, but is usually the equivalent to the buses in Albuquerque, with many homeless and drunkies. I didn't get home until 430... with class at 10

Friday
As suspected Friday was terrible. Oversleeping is one of the many joys students take for granted. If I was any where else, like with a job or something, i would have been up the creek without a paddle, but as a student I am able to oversleep, roll out of bed and run to class without giving a second thought as to what any one will think of my outfit. I still managed to look amazing, just a bit glossy with the eyes! Class dragged on and on all day, with no incident...

Saturday
Saturday, was filled with moments of pure bliss. Watch the movie Notting Hill, That whole movie is set in Notting Hill obviously, but more importantly, this is where the famous Portabello Market takes place every weekend! Its amazing, spices from all over the world and fruits and veggies that you didnt know existed are suddenly staring you in the eye. Its amazing, people from all over the world come to this market just to shop and it is practically in my back yard... I love life. After shopping all day in Portobello, we came home for a rest when we decided to go see New Moon... Which I thoroughly loved. Life is getting to be sooo exhausting... but exhausting in a good way!

Settling...

When you move away from everything you know, there is a moment when you feel like you will never feel 'at home,' at least that's how I felt. That feeling is one that comes to haunt you in the middle of the night or on the corner of oxford street, you'd be surprised how much 7,000 miles can change everything you've ever thought of before. I didn't think of how much everything was going to change in my life, before i came here. I thought that at the age of 23 I had figured out who I was going to be for the rest of my life, and all that would change from here on out was what I was going to do with my life. God, was I wrong! I am learning everything, one should learn at the age of 16, but I am learning it here in one of the greatest cities in the world. I am learning how to live and not depend on any one. I mean, waking up and not being able to talk to my 'close circle of friends' and make decisions solely on what I wanted or what I thought was best is a completely foreign concept to me. At home, I completely depended on those around me for answers never looking at what I needed. Here I don't have to and don't want to do that! I can live as completely selfishly as I want and don't have to apologize for it. While, it might seem like these are trivial concepts and like I must have experienced some of these things before, I feel like everything out here is completely new. I feel rejuvenated and like life is finally fun! With all of this, comes a feeling of settling.... I have finally settled into my home here and settled into my studies. I have finally found my rhythm and life is better than ever. More to come!
